Introduction

Imagine a world where Black History isn't confined to a single month, but celebrated and explored every day of the year.  Welcome to the Support Black History 365 campaign! Our mission is to celebrate and promote black history every day of the year, not just during Black History Month. We're developing the largest and most engaging digital and interactive platform dedicated to black history. This platform will offer a rich, immersive experience with games, puzzles, quizzes, music, and more, accessible on any device—be it your PC, MacBook, tablet, phone or classroom smartboards. Plus, we’ll provide ways for you to access printouts and answer sheets for those who prefer traditional learning methods.

The Vision

"We Gonna Learn Today" is more than just a website. It’s an immersive, educational journey designed for learners of all ages. Starting with around 150 Black historical figures, Diminished Stories and HBCUs. Our vision is to expand this interactive library to include 550 figures, stories and schools over the next five years. You can check out our roadmap tab to see the future BHFs, Diminished Stories and HBCUs coming in the next five years. Each phase will introduce new content, ensuring a continuous stream of fresh, engaging material that keeps users coming back to learn more. We Gonna Learn Today aims to create a vibrant, educational space where users of all ages can learn about the profound contributions and rich heritage of black individuals and communities worldwide. We believe that understanding black history is crucial for fostering a more inclusive and equitable society. Our platform will ensure that these stories are told and celebrated year-round by highlighting the achievements and contributions of Black Historical Figures, Diminished Stories and HBCUs throughout history. Our platform will feature:

1. Interactive Learning

  • Games & Puzzles: Engage with black history through fun and educational games like frogger, crosswords, unscrambles and more designed for all age groups.

  • Puzzles: Jigsaw and sliding puzzles of historical photos and significant events.

  • Leader Boards: Every activity and game has it's on leaderboard so you can see how you fare against other people around the world.

  • Trivia Games: Test your knowledge on Black history and culture.

  • Quizzes: Test your knowledge with quizzes that span a wide range of topics, from historical figures to cultural milestones.

2. Multimedia Content

  • Musical Biographies: Experience history through the power of music with bio-rhymes a vast collection of black historical figures, accompanied by their stories and impact on various genres and movements.

  • Animated Biography Videos: Watch and learn from dynamic, animated videos that bring to life the stories of over 150 Black historical figures, Diminished Stories and HBCUs in our first phase, with plans to expand to 550 figures over the next five years.

  • Educational Tools: Perfect for classrooms, our platform will work seamlessly with smartboards and touch screen monitors for learning environments.

  • Engaging Content: Built-in questions within animated videos to encourage critical thinking and deeper understanding.

3. Pintables and Traditional Learning

  • Activity Sheets: Printable worksheets for offline learning.

  • Answer Sheets: Solutions to all activities for self-assessment.

  • Lesson Plans: Resources for teachers to integrate into their curriculum.

4. Multi-Device Accessibility

  • Cross-Platform Access: Seamless experience across Smartboards, PC, MacBook, tablets, and phones.

  • User-Friendly Interface: Designed for ease of use, catering to all age groups.

 5. Community Engagement

  • Forums & Discussions: Join our social media community forums to discuss black history topics, share resources, and connect with others who are passionate about black history.

  • Live Events: Participate in live events, including guest speaker sessions, interactive workshops, and virtual tours of historical sites.

Phase 1: Building a Solid Foundation (Official Launch June 15, 2024)

In this first phase, we focused on about 150 different Black Historical Figures, Diminished Stories and HBCUs, which have often been overlooked. Our platform features animated biography videos that bring these figures to life, complete with built-in questions to engage users in critical thinking. Along with  built in leaderboards of the top ten players of that activity.  Our content also includes games, puzzles, quizzes, and musical biographies, offering a multi-faceted approach to learning. The platform is designed for accessibility across multiple devices, including PCs, MacBook's, tablets, phones, and it's compatible with smart boards and touch screen monitors for classroom use. Additionally, we provide printouts and answer sheets for traditional learning environments.

Future Growth and Expansion

This is just the beginning. Over the next five years, we aim to scale our platform to feature over 550 Black historical figures, Diminished Stories and HBCUs continually expanding our content and reach. Our vision is to become the go-to resource for Black history education, fostering a deeper understanding and appreciation of the significant contributions and stories within the Black community.

    • Do some programs within schools, churches and after school programs

  • Phase 3 Goal: $30,000 (By June 19, 2026)

    • Animation of 100 biographies

    • Development of interactive content

    • Initial website design and functionality

    • Creation of printable educational materials

    • Continuously monitor and optimize website performance.

    • Ensure compatibility with the latest devices and software updates.

    • Continue to grow our community building through forums, social media groups, and interactive events.

    • Develop a financial sustainability plan (giveaways, donations, sponsorships).

    • Do more programs within schools, churches and after school programs

    • Work on getting into the school system, churches, home school programs and after school programs

    • Work on getting into libraries and museums

    • Explore additional revenue streams (merchandise, premium content).

    • Phase 4 Goal: $35,000 (By June 19, 2027)

    • Animation of 100 biographies

    • Development of interactive content

    • Initial website design and functionality

    • Creation of printable educational materials

    • Continuously monitor and optimize website performance.

    • Ensure compatibility with the latest devices and software updates.

    • Continue to grow our community building through forums, social media groups, and interactive events.

    • Develop a financial sustainability plan (giveaways, donations, sponsorships).

    • ​Do more programs within schools, churches and after school programs

    • Work on getting into more school systems, churches, home school programs and after school programs

    • Work on getting programs into libraries and museums

    • Explore additional revenue streams (merchandise, premium content).

    • Phase 5 Goal: $50,000 (By June 19, 2028)

    • Animation of 100 biographies

    • Development of interactive content

    • Initial website design and functionality

    • Creation of printable educational materials

    • Continuously monitor and optimize website performance.

    • Ensure compatibility with the latest devices and software updates.

    • Continue to grow our community building through forums, social media groups, and interactive events.

    • Develop a financial sustainability plan (giveaways, donations, sponsorships).

    • ​Do more programs within schools, churches and after school programs

    • Work on getting into the school system, churches, home school programs and after school programs

    • Work on getting more programs into libraries and museums

    • Explore additional revenue streams (merchandise, premium content).

    • Global Outreach by expanding the platform's reach to international audiences.

    • Collaborate with global educational and cultural organizations.
